Doctor Who

One of the science fiction shows I vaguely remember as a child. I think Doctor Who was PBS mainly during telethons at least that is where I remember watching hours of the show. I believe that the Five Doctors episode, but have the fondest memories of the 4th Doctor, Tom Baker. I remember the failed attempt by fox through a made for TV movie to introduce Doctor Who to American Prime Time in 1996.

Frys

It is official after asking at the applicant desk I have discover that Frys is opening on Friday!

note: I attempted to email this post in last night during a fire drill while in class, but to no avail. It appears that it saves it on the server awaiting approval to post. That is ok, but not the quick publishing I had hoped for.

Starting on March 21st, Silo Roberts is carrying a story line about Star Wars. The online comic seems to be approriate for all ages.

It makes me wonder what The Norm was doing related to the release of Episode 3, but I cannot... You ask why...

Well, The Norm went subscription based service starting last year. Seems that Michael Jantze didn't want to be tied to newspaper syndication any more and needed a revenue stream to pay for his web site and his creation (comic). I completely understand and support that. I even paid for a yearly subscription 3 years ago ($ 5), but didn't get any real benefit to it and decided to not renew.

The new fee is $25 for a year, which isn't the end of the world for a daily comic, but The Norm displayed some political leanings near the end of his free run that I don't necessarily agree with and I didn't want to pay to have someone voice their political view to me. And that is the story of why Rob doesn't read the norm anymore.

Well, after three podcasts, and I am sure a fourth is forth coming. I will be the first to link to...ericast - Podcast.

Love Story...Tearjerker...leave the lightsabers at home?

I think that George's Flannel shirt must be a little too tight.
Lucas calls new 'Star Wars' a titanic tearjerker

If he is trying to convince my wife to go, he has to do a lot better then this. And if he is serious, well.... I just might cry. He would have ruined the whole Star Wars saga for me.

By the way, I still have to blog the story of texasunwrapped.com & ezoshosting.com

Ok, I might be a little on edge today, but I am on fire about this one today...

I got a request from MVLS (Microsoft Volume licensing Services) web site that someone has requested access to the company licensing information. I have never heard of this person before that is requesting access. Thinking that is was possibly a hacker or something of the like attempting to access our license keys or other data. I checked the MVLS site to discover it is someone from CDW, our software reseller, asking for permission.

I emailed the individual and my account rep to figure out why and what they wanted access to (I assumed CDW already has some access).
The individual replied that they wanted to help use better utilize some services we get from Microsoft with a special type of license that we don't buy. What follows is my response:

I feel compelled though in this time of security concerns, to voice my extreme disappointed about the way this request was handled. When I first received the request directly from Microsoft to grant you access, I thought someone was attempting to access our company information with no reason. When I checked the MVLS web site I discovered your email address was from CDW, I was deeply disappointed in CDW. I cannot image why anyone would not inform their customers directly before requesting access to the customer's records. I appreciate your desire to be proactive, but what prevented you from emailing the customers you were going to request access from before informing them of the reasons and what access you wanted.

It is beyond me why people don't think!

At the present time, this is the current home page of www.axsy.com. Due to some technical errors (namely an ID 10 T error on my behave), the home of the Crawfords site has well, gone (been deleted).

Of course this is a good thing, we were meaning to make some changes to our site anyway and this just puts a fire under us to get it all worked out.

Another Mini for the list...

maybe I should change this to the miniRoblog?

Thanks to a Slashdot article, Slashdot | CherryOS Mac Emulator Resurfaces, I have been alerted that the Mac Emulator is available to download from Fileforum.

Looks like CherryOS though isn't without conterversey though. It appeasrs that it has some borrowed code in it from PearPC. You have got to love opensource!

Now my only question is, who am I going to bor... oops, obtain a copy of OS X, and in the end I really might not need CherryOS or PearPC since I have got my hands on a old iMac. Can I get some thoughts on where a man looking to fall in love with Mac can get OS X in the most economic way? The gadget/tech budget is... well... I don't really have one.

Thanks to my good ear and my fondness for .... well I will wait until next week to say. I was able to determine the first Audio Whatzit from ChuckChat.com

What did I win you ask? A Gmail account? No!

Even better, I got mentioned on his daily podcast not just once, but twice. Check out his podcasts for March 2nd and 3rd.

If you catch the podcast from the 3rd, you might also notice that emlarson got a shout out to as a new listener.

Mike Myers really got it started didn't he. First there was...
